عيد الفطر مبارك! هذا قد يكون العام القادم واحدة بارك للكم ولعائلاتكم ، وأوقات مليئة بالسعادة والفرح ، وعظيم!
Hopefully my original translated message comes through, loud and clear. I meant to say (and hopefully Google Translate didn't mistranslate the meaning too much), "Eid al Fitr Mubarak! May this coming year be a blessed one for you and your families, full of happiness, joy, and great times!"
As for me, I have a wedding to plan (it'll be next spring or early summer, we've yet to set a date), to the most wonderful man alive. Alex is a truly superfluous person; I can't say enough great things about him. And considering my loquacious nature, prone to excessive verbosity (e.g., I talk a lot and use a lot of big words!), that's telling. It'll be a big, fat, Catholic wedding with close to ten bridesmaids and groomsmen, and probably in a high/solemn Nuptial Mass setting (in English, instead of Latin, though both Alex and I understand SOME liturgical Latin)... either that or we could marry in a Maronite Catholic parish and accomplish the same thing without ruffling a lot of Roman Catholic feathers. My father, who was raised Catholic and attended Mass well into his 20's, did fall away from the Church. He has his poor excuses why, and while I don't buy most of them, it's important to me that I get him in a church pew for a FULL MASS at least once more in his life. And I'm going to make it count :-) I do have my wedding dress/bridesmaids’ dress designer picked out—Sophia Tolli—along with a couple possible dresses. I just have to “consult the tribe”, so to speak, to see which dress that ALL of my bridesmaids prefer. Hopefully there’ll be a consensus, because my preference may not be the preference of the ones I want in my bridal party, and I don’t want to turn into a massive Bridezilla that insists on EVERYTHING MY WAY, OR ELSE. Needless to say, I plan on having a VERY GOOD wedding planner or wedding planning team, in order to make this day about Alex and I, engaging in the Sacrament of Marriage, instead of Melinda stressing out over ONE DAY of her life with the man she loves.
