Another item from the Uganda Beads collection that's sure to be in high demand, and in very definite short supply, is the Breast Cancer Awareness Collection, featuring a necklace and a bracelet. This collection would be great for any breast cancer survivors in your life, as well as for all women. Because the sooner we find a viable cure, less women will die from this disease, and more women with it will have the hope we all need.
Without further ado, here's the pictures of it:
In a Facebook message with the page's admin, he confided that the women who create the jewelry had never seen this color before when given the beads, and upon creating pieces of jewelry, wanted to pose for a picture wearing their creations. Two of the pictures on the "Who We Are" (the upper right and lower left) are of some of the artisans wearing the BCA jewelry they've created through Uganda Beads. The company's website is at http://www.ugandabeads.com/, their Facebook page is at: https://www.facebook.com/ugandabeads and the direct URL's to the bracelet are here: http://www.ugandabeads.com/products/breast-cancer-awareness-bracelet and for the necklace, here: http://www.ugandabeads.com/collections/necklaces/products/breast-cancer-awareness-necklace .
I'll be ordering the bracelet for myself ASAP; I love knowing that this company empowers women, that it gives them opportunities that they wouldn't ordinarily have. I also happen to love the color pink (all shades!) and hope that some day, some where, we find a cure so that fewer of my sisters (and the occasional mister) around the world die from breast cancer.
Hope can be in short supply, but as long as we keep it alive in our hearts, we will begin to live ourselves (to paraphrase the quote I posted in a previous post).
I recognize that the past few posts have been what many would consider "advertising". I would like to reiterate that I am merely a fan of Uganda Beads, and am not affiliated with them in any other capacity.
