Definitely worthy of support...

This is a Facebook group that's seeking to donate food baskets to needy Libyan families during Ramadan. Please do support them... it's an easy way to help out a family that needs a "hand up", and a good way of increasing your faith by performing one of the key elements of the month of Ramadan-- a charitable act. It is also said that the rewards for performing zakat are greater during the month of Ramadan than at any other time of year.

Also, this group-- https://www.facebook.com/groups/LibyansAndAmericans/525360334179897/-- Libyans and Americans United for Friendship and Peace.

And yeah, I'm putting my money where my mouth is and will be donating to this event, which runs from June 26th until July 10th (and probably all throughout the month of Ramadan).

The first annual (that I know of) Libyan Eid Toy Drive will also be a pet project of mine-- we're just working out the logistics of it. Right now, a "street fair" sort of party in Martyrs Square in Benghazi is in the planning stages for near the end of Ramadan, with hopes that every child in attendance will go home with some gift. Maybe not necessarily toys, but practical things like school supplies (I really like Crayola products, most of the other types of crayons aren't worth the wax they're made out of) as well. Will update as plans evolve, but the good news is, IT'S A GO.
