I Have A Dream...

I have a dream,
To see Libyan students at American universities. Everywhere, in all fifty states. If it's certain sectors, i.e., business, I do have to recommend Oklahoma State U-Stillwater, with reservations. Namely, if they don't drink, and aren't supposed to, then they MUST stay away from certain places (Eskimo Joe's, Frat/Sorority Row), and join up with the Multicultural Club there, as well as the Muslim Students Union. And attend mosque services. That goes for ANY Muslim students that come here to study that I have a hand in bringing here. Attend the mosque, or I will have an imam in your area hunt you down. For any Catholics, I do know five priests. Including one German-Canadian one, one American of probably Polish extraction, and one Dutch one. Be scared. Be very, very afraid. Hide now.

To see Americans volunteering in Libya in whatever ways they can, to help rebuild a fractured nation. If it's teaching children and adults English, if it's building schools and houses, and that sort of thing, SO BE IT (where's Jimmy Carter and Habitat for Humanity, RIF, etc., when you need them?). This is Americans already in Libya, this is Americans not in Libya with no ties to Libya, this is Libyan-American ex pats, this is EVERYONE who gives a damn about doing what's right, even when it's not easy. And even when it'll get you stopped at PDX on the way back. Or prevented from boarding your flight home, due to asinine and arbitrary rules.

To see Libyan military personnel, both officers and enlisted, at American military training facilities such as WHINSEC @Ft. Benning, GA... which is in Columbus, GA. My big brother (not a crack at his weight and size for once, but his age-- he's 44) went through his initial OCS/BCT there. It was "hell" until he made it to Ft. Riley, KS, that was hell until Afghanistan, that was hell until post-Katrina NOLA, and the only place that shouldn't be bombed into glass playground status until five millenia are over is Ft. Carson, CO.

To see Muslims and Christians actually get along with one another, without someone blowing a church or a mosque up (the best way to do this is the planned event-- a potluck and dinner party, with a Middle Eastern theme-- for Memorial Day weekend, bringing friends together, and friends thought of but not there, at Trojan Park. If you're in the Portland, OR area, or even the Seattle, WA, area, and aren't on my Block List on Facebook, message me for an invite--but all from TWWS, you've been on it for awhile. Crash the party, even show your face anywhere near there, and you will be dealt with.

Gruss Gott. That is all, for now.
