A few years back, I had a posting with the same title, showcasing certain de facto First Ladies and First Daughters of Libya as well as Queen Rania and Asma Al Assad... and got a chewing out over it. I'm not sure who was peeved over who was showcased. I see now why that was the case, and it was well deserved based on the facts that are now coming out. Anyways, my opinion is that, any woman anywhere that dresses modestly is beautiful. I don't see a woman in hijab as being oppressed for her faith, I see a woman following her faith in a very overt way that is a very personal choice for her, and should be applauded by everyone around her, not looked upon with scorn or derision.
And I also like "local" businesses. These particular ones are based out of the Seattle, WA area (which DOES include Bellevue and Tacoma). Which leads me to this trio of sites, in no particular order.
First off, Al Sundus Islamic Clothing. Everything in the section for women is something that I, as a practicing Catholic woman, would wear. Their kids' section is truly adorable. The website is here-- http://alsundus.stores.yahoo.net/index.html
Next, Al-Andalus Islamic Clothing. The woman that runs this company also has an awesome blog, Touched By An Arab, at http://www.touchedbyanarab.com -- with a lot of fun, hip, and awesome fashion stylings for modest, yet modern styles that yes, this Christian woman would wear happily. Because they're that cool. Unfortunately, she has closed her retail location :( -- but her store's Facebook page is still up and running. https://www.facebook.com/AlAndalusApparel?sk=wall
Third, Hijabis4ever, at http://www.hijabis4ever.com/index.html ... I absolutely LOVE their selection as far as the wide variety of categories, from clothing to jewelry, to shoes, home decor, halal foods and perfumes, etc. A must see, just because they have so much to offer. I merely browsed through, and let's just say... I'm tempted. Very much so. I am kind of wondering about this one, though (see image below). But I guess considering I've spent time near the Million Dollar Hole at Ft. Lost in the Woods, Misery (aka, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO) and enjoying the NBC Chamber a wee bit too much; have been on Ft. Sill, OK and Ft. Lewis, WA a time or twenty; and I happen to live in Longview, welllllll, drinking "Special Gunpowder" shouldn't hurt me.
