The NSA and the Sec. of State

I'll let you ponder who's who :P Nah, just kidding. It's Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and National Security Advisor of Libya, Dr. Moatessam Bilal Gaddafi. Nice brown suit, by the way, but what's with the slight "gapping" at the lower button? It'd be PERFECT for him (because only The Leader, or spawn of The Leader, could pull something like that off) if not for that "flaw" in button or design. I'd hope it wasn't intentional, because it looks like he had a big old meal and couldn't quite button things up afterwards. I say this with respect, because the food served official visitors to the U.S. is pretty damn good. I can only hope Mr. Gaddafi got to get away from busy meetings and tour the Washington, D.C. area, and that at some point in the future, Libyan soldiers are able to go to the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, previously known as "College of the Americas", training such notorious generals as Manuel Noriega (now behind bars in the U.S. for gross human rights violations and drug trafficking). With Libyan interpretation of human rights being as "interesting" as they are, then I think they definitely belong there! While Dr. Gaddafi has now resigned his post (or has he?!?) in the Libyan Army (where he was a lieutenant colonel, which is still a lower rank than an Lt. Col in the U.S. Army, because the Libyan army has different ranking than the U.S. Army does) in order to become one of Libya's National Security Advisors, that doesn't mean he shouldn't have some say in military affairs... after all, NSA's do have a responsibility towards the security of the nation to which they serve, and the military is one important aspect of the war on terrorism. I would say that of "surprise allies" in the WOT, Libya and Syria are pretty close to the top. Known allies, like Jordan, are also more friend than foe (cough Pakistan cough cough). With friends and allies like the Pakistani government, who really needs Al Qaida and the Taliban? They're one and the same, in a lot of cases.

Anywho, links to two pages on Libya-- first, the guide on the Libyan Military, from Global Security (who also has a page on Saif al Islam Gaddafi, but none of the other brothers as of yet), here:
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/libya/ and to the Wikipedia entry on COTA/WHINSC (I think I preferred the old acronym, as the new one resembles what a sneeze sounds like... not exactly fitting) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Hemisphere_Institute_for_Security_Cooperation

And pics are mainly from Reuters... because AS IF this would be found on CNN.com... or FOX News... or the London Times or Post, or any international news organization (INO) because it's a Gaddafi son NOT acting "badly". Just do a Google Search of "Dr. Mo", and it'll likely pull up the story of and then retraction of the party in the Caribbean that he was supposedly at-- or hosted-- where Beyonce performed. Caused a pretty big stink. It just happened that Dr. Mo was a GUEST at the party... not the host. Not that it mattered. Or Google "Saadi Gaddafi and Italian model"-- it'll pick up a pic of him snogging a model in Italy. Wonder what his wife has to say about that, and I'm not sure who's more to blame-- him for cheating on her, or her for not kicking his assets. At the time these pics of Secretary Clinton and NSA Dr. Mo were taken, last April (in 2009), NOBODY could believe that the Sec. of State was meeting with a (gasp!) "terrorist", and everyone was saying the images HAD TO BE doctored in some way. Um, if they were, I think they'd probably be to make Secretary Clinton look a wee bit taller... she looks quite short next to Dr. Mo, and she's 5'6" tall (169 cm)-- so how tall is Dr. Mo? He looks about a foot taller there.
